How the Nebraska tint law has changed

The changes we could document, newest first, each with its source. Where we only know that our older records differ from today's law, we say so rather than guess a date.

  1. Our records SUVs and vans: our older records said 35%

TintCenter's 2011 records applied a 35% limit to SUV and van back windows. The current statute (60-6,257) exempts multipurpose vehicles, vans and buses from the 20% limit behind the front seat. We don't know whether the law changed or our older data was wrong.

Films of 35% VLT or lighter: legal on every window of a car in Nebraska. Darker films for the rear windows are in the full collection. All car window film.

Where to find the Nebraska tint law

Sources disagree: Some tint charts list 35% for SUVs and vans behind the driver in Nebraska. The statute (60-6,257) exempts those windows on multipurpose vehicles, vans and buses.
