New York lawmakers pass a 50% window tint bill; the governor hasn't acted yet (2026)

Both houses of the New York Legislature passed S9226/A5306, which would lower the tint limit from 70% to 50% on every window except the windshield. It isn't law yet: the governor hasn't signed it.
