How dark can window tint be in Arkansas?

Darkness is measured as visible light transmission (VLT): the percentage of light that gets through. A lower number means darker tint.

Film certification
Film manufacturers don't need to certify the film they sell in the state.
Sticker
A sticker identifying legal tint is required between the film and the glass on the driver's side window.
Medical exemption
Carry a physician's certification that darker tint is in your best interest, for a condition such as albinism or lupus. It allows 20% on the side windows, 10% on the rear window and 50% on the windshield, and lasts 3 years. When you sell the vehicle, you must disclose the tint or remove it.

Enforcement and penalties in Arkansas

Enforcement
Any vehicle with aftermarket tint must have the installer's label on the glass to the driver's left, with the company's name and phone number, confirming the tint is legal (Code 27-37-306(c)).
Penalties
A Class B misdemeanor for drivers and installers (27-37-306(g)): up to 90 days in jail, a fine of up to $1,000, or both.
