How the New Hampshire tint law has changed

The changes we could document, newest first, each with its source. Where we only know that our older records differ from today's law, we say so rather than guess a date.

  1. Law change Tint beside the driver now allowed at 70%

RSA 266:58-a, as published in 2025, allows aftermarket tint on the windows beside the driver if it lets in at least 70% of light, 35% on the rear windows, and a 6-inch windshield strip at 35% or more. Our 2011 records said no front tint was allowed. We don't know the exact year this changed.
