Madico is one of the oldest names in window film and a pioneer of vacuum-deposited (metallized) film. It's a wholly owned subsidiary of Lintec USA Holdings, part of Japan's Lintec Corporation, and makes automotive tint, architectural and safety films, Protekt paint protection film and ClearPlex windshield film.

Its car tint range now centers on Black Pearl (high-performance, non-reflective and nano-ceramic versions), plus Charcool, Onyx, GP Max, Shadow and WinCos IR. Charcool and Onyx are both in our archive and still sold. Madico has grown by buying other film companies: SolaMatrix, maker of Sun-Gard, in 2010, ClearPlex in 2016, and Johnson Window Films in January 2026, keeping the Johnson brand.

Heat rejected = total solar energy rejected (TSER), lowest to highest across the line's shades, from the maker's published specs (each line's page names the source and its date). Darker shades usually reject more. Figures are for film on clear glass, so treat comparisons as a guide.
