Solar Gard HP True Grey

Discontinued Status checked September 2026

Discontinued. Marked discontinued in TintCenter's records by 2013. On Solar Gard's US performance sheet of February 2004 (Bekaert Specialty Films era) and gone from its performance page by October 2007.

From our catalog notes (2008–2013): High quality grey film that is guaranteed to never fade. Its not green, blue, or purple. It's simply True Grey.

Hybrid film pairs a dyed layer with a thin metal layer, so it rejects more heat than dyed film while staying less shiny than an all-metal film. Compare the types of window film.

Figures are measured on single-pane clear glass; results on your windows will vary. The number in a shade's name is nominal; VLT is the measured light transmission. Archived specs may differ from what was sold near the end of the line.

Darkness limits for cars are set by each state. Check your state's tint law before choosing a shade.

Visualize the shades: tint preview and heat rejected

The tint preview shows how each shade darkens the view from inside (visible light transmission, VLT); screens vary, so use it as a guide. Heat rejected is total solar energy rejected (TSER): higher is cooler.
